About Us

1. Our Services

  • Design for print
  • Corporate identity and branding
  • Website design
  • Electronic media
  • Integrated campaigns

Our work makes sure print’s still highly relevant and effective, identity and branding stays consistent, electronic media up to date and campaigns punchy and well targeted.

2. Ethics and Aesthetics

When we formed nim design 15 years ago, we knew we wanted to do things differently.

We knew that with care our business could combine the highest standards of ethics with the highest levels of creativity, that there was no reason our public and third sector clients shouldn’t enjoy the same design standards as our corporate customers, and that to offer truly outstanding work meant getting no bigger than we absolutely needed to.

In short, if we’ve a philosophy it’s this. Keep small, keep having big ideas, and always keep the best biscuits for client meetings.

There is no reason why our public and third sector clients shouldn’t enjoy the same design standards as our corporate ones.

3. Design and Dedication

We’re a close-knit team with some pretty firm ideas about what makes great design work well. We don’t, for instance, think that the latest thing is necessarily the best thing just because it’s new, but that every innovation is worth its merits and should be explored with a critical and open mind.

We believe that design works when it has a clear purpose and that an ethical approach is not something that can be tacked on to an organisation, a badge to be worn when circumstances suit. So it’s an attitude that runs throughout the company, from the paper we specify, to the organisations we belong to, to the messages our design delivers.

We know that designers and clients work best when they work together, when the people you speak to are the people doing the work.

4. How we Work

We’re openly collaborative, both with our clients and with the experts that help make our work special. So whilst we’re a multi-discipline agency, offering everything from design for print, logo, identity and branding through to electronic design in all its forms, we never shy away from introducing some of the best writers, photographers and illustrators to a project and to our clients.

And it means that our pricing structure is clear, that budgets set are budgets honoured and that meetings, amends, and administration are not just included in the service, they’re included in the price.

We like to be transparent in everything we do and that means understanding our client isn’t just part of our job, it’s how we do our job.

5. Our Promises

  • To only use environmentally accredited printers
  • To recommend formats and sizes that minimise
    paper wastage
  • To only use fsc or recycled paper
  • To use electronic/digital formats whenever appropriate
  • To dispose of all waste products responsibly
  • To work with suppliers who share our attitudes
    and commitment
  • To be transparent in our billing – so you can see how
    your money is spent

Our commitment to ethical business is as important to us as our belief in good design. It makes us brave enough to choose to work with clients who make a positive contribution to society.
